Hair loss or baldness (technically known asALOPECIA) is a loss of hair from the head and it can have many causes including fungal infections (tinea capitis), traumatic damage such as by compulsive pulling (trichotillomania), as a result of radiotherapy or chemotherapy, as a result of nutritional deficiencies such as iron, as a result of autoimmune phenomena (Alopecia Areata), associated with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus or thyroid malfunction and many others.
