Dr. Doanh Lu is a Vietnamese born American. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995, and was awarded her Medical Doctor degree in 2001 from the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. From 2001-2004 Dr. Lu did her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona, and from 2004-2006 went on to subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Southern California. Both University of Massachusetts and University of Southern California are within the top 50 best research universities by the US News and Reports, and University of Massachusetts is in the top 10 for primary care.
She returned to Vietnam in 2006 to work in the US PEPFAR (President’s emergency plan for AIDS relief) through Harvard Medical School AIDS Initiative in Vietnam program. She held an academic appointment as an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard. Her work involved training Vietnamese clinicians in all public HIV clinics in the care and treatment of HIV infected persons, and helping to write the Vietnam Ministry of Health’s clinical guidelines on HIV care and treatment for adults and children.
She joined Stamford Skin Centre in 2013. She gained her Dermatology skill through the prestigious Cardiff University, UK, where she was awarded the Diploma of Practical Dermatology, with Merit, in 2014.
Dr. Lu’s clinical interests include general medical dermatology such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and applications of LASER for various skins and nail problems, including fungal nail infections, hard-to-treat warts, hypertrophic and keloid scars, hair removal, and stretch marks. She continues her practice of infectious disease including HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.
Dr. Lu is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
In addition Dr. Lu is a lecturer for the Vietnamese National University School of Medicine.
